Upanayana or Munjvi is an occasion of Thread ceremony in Hindu Brahmin and some other communities.

After the Janivara (sacred thread ceremony) the Vatu has to ask for Matru Bhiksha while he is in Lord Vaamana Avataara. He holds a chhatri/umbrella. Now a days, this umbrella is nicely decorated to make it Simply beautiful and attractive.
