Naagara Panchami, also known as Naaga Panchami, is a significant observance in Hindu calendar celebrated by Hindu, Jains and Buddhist in India as well as Nepal. It is the veneration of Nagas (serpents/snakes) marked on the fifth day (Panchami) of bright fortnight in the lunar month Shravana. This entire means is to see God in every living being.
Pujas are conducted in Karnataka and Maharashtra among other areas of India; they mould snake idols out of soil and clay, conducting ritualistic milk Abhisheka offerings including raw green tamarind, salt, jowar pops roasted or popped whole chana among others is done. In North Karnataka, Thambittu Undi(Phutana Dal Laddu) and White Til Laddu are a must in fulfilling these traditions during this season which aims at recognizing that all living beings have sacredness through several regional practices during this annual event.
