Nagara Panchami / Naga Panchami is a significant day in Hindu Calendar.
Naga Panchami is a day of traditional worship of Nag or snakes observed by Hindus, Jains, and Buddhists throughout India & Nepal. The worship is offered on the fifth day(Panchami) of bright half of lunar month of Shravana, according to the Hindu calendar.
The significance of the festival is mainly seeing God in each and every living being, here it is Snake God.
This festival is celebrated usually in Karnataka, Maharashtra and few more states of India. Snake Idols made of mud/Clay are worshiped by the devotees by doing Abhisheka with Milk and the offerings like Raw Green Tamarind, salt, Jowar pop, Roasted or Popped Chana(whole) on Chaturthi & Panchami. On Chaturthi, all Raw things are offered where as on Panchami, all ripened Tamarind, roasted things are offered.
