Jowar/Sorghum Rotti/Bhakri ( Jwar ki kadak Roti )is an Indian bread made by patting the Jowar flour dough & roasting on the firewood. It is also called Jolada Kadak Rotti or Jolada Bhakri (Jwar ki kadak Roti ) in Kannada. It is a signature, authentic dish of North Karnataka, i.e., a very common, healthy, filling roti in every household. Usually, Jolada rotti/Bhakri (Jwar ki kadak Roti) is the best combination with stuffed Brinjal, any chutney pudi & salad.
Sorghum(Jwar) is a healthy millet that is rich in minerals like calcium, potassium, phosphorus, and iron. Being rich in antioxidants, it’s good for the heart too and is diabetic-friendly. Jowar is also an excellent gluten-free flour.
